About THE OAKVILLE STROKERS
The Oakville Strokers was started by a small group of Oakville residents in 1995 and became a registered community charity in 1998. The program is a therapeutic recreational program directed towards maintenance of mobility and enjoyment to help stroke survivors overcome the aftermath of a stroke. The Oakville Strokers also hold an Annual Christmas Luncheon and organize group outings such as bowling, pub lunches and theatre shows. The Oakville Strokers is entirely operated by dedicated and long serving volunteers. The program takes place away from home and provides a day of rest for family and care givers. The home of the Oakville Strokers is the Glen Abbey Community Centre.
